Originally I wanted to do a diary for myself reminding me of what was flowering at certain times/weeks/months of the year. Then I thought I would share it with you , giving you ideas and inspiration for next year and for years to come ! All pictures and ideas will be taken from my customers gardens as and when I come across any flowering or particularly interesting plants that week.

Japanese Anemones

These white Anemones are in full bloom right now creating stunning display in a clients garden at the moment. There is also a pink variety available.

Dahlias

Dahlias, Dahlias , Dahlias ! So many varieties flowering right now .

Icelandic Poppies

You don't come across these white poppies very often , this variety is so beautiful and really stands out in the flower bed right now.

Verbena bonariensis ( Argentinian vervain ) A perennial plant which can grow up to 2 meters high . They like full sun and can cope in exposed or sheltered parts of a garden. You cut them right down in the spring as all the new growth grows from the base of the plant . They can seed everywhere if you let them and will give you many new plants year after year. They still offer great colour this time of the year (mid September ) , especially when other perennials start to die off , this colour can sometimes last well until the first frosts start ( UK ).

Zinnias

Originally native to Mexico these annual flowers ( meaning it goes from seed to flower and back to seed and then dies off all in one year - dropping lots of seeds in the process ) can grow up too 75cm high x 25cm across, creating stunning displays in any garden. Preferring full sun and a south or west facing position in your garden these are great in filling gaps in your borders.

Thats all for this week , come back next week to see what else is out. Let me give you inspiration and get ready for september next year in your garden !
